This Dog on the Loose

Got me a day off 🙃

I had just returned home from the Tai Ji Quan class where I’m co-teaching, when the doorbell rang.

My next door neighbors had found this adorable dog running up and down the streets. They managed to catch it, but they needed someone to follow up, since they were headed out-of-town that very moment.

I asked if they had a cat carrier. They did and I put this cute creature inside with little resistance — which cued me this was an adult dog. I brought him inside and my neighbor put out a notice on her social media including a photo and a message to call my number.

I’d decided to call him JJ because it’s fun to say

I let him explore the house and picked up any items I thought would give him a stomach ache. I also closed all the doors where there were shoes. I’ve never met a dog that doesn’t like leather.

I had my own problem, I was supposed to report to work and I was already late. I crated him again with a bribe of sliced turkey and went into the office.

My boss was in a meeting, but waved me in when he saw me. I explained the situation, showed him the picture, and went back home waiting for the call I knew would come.
