Thanks for the common-sense article. From this side of the pond, don’t BUY a car until you have finished high school, college, or are in a good job that you enjoy going to (friends, learning, network, skills building, mission).

Don’t buy a house until you have cobble together 20% of the downpayment and have 10% on hand for repairs — something always happens. If you are working 60 hour weeks, do you really need a back yard? a patio will do. Don’t buy a lawnmower. Borrow a neighbors and pay them for using it — in kind or cash. They take up way too much real estate.
