I was going to quote James Cagney about leaving money to children and grandchildren, but the facts are more complicated. In my opinion a parent should help with part of a college fees, but not the lifestyle of going to college--that way lies madness. Enrichment activities and going to memorable destinations. The family vacation is over-rated.
