I first saw Gambian in “ The Singing Detective.” It is an incredible and every story of chronic illness & lots more (no spoiler alerts for me.) He played Detective Maigret from the the justly famous Simenon novels. Incredible. They are tough stories filled with compassion for mired lives of the denizens of Paris. They are far more than mysteries.
