Art, this was wonderful. I have a mother who is that strong-willed. It is a blessing and a curse. You did a great job, but the slow defeat of aging is brutal for the individual and the caregivers.

When my mother-in-law was admitted into the hospital for observation (and subsequently admitted to a nursing home), a wise volunteer comforted me by saying “It’s never enough.”
